the reason is you
It took me a few seconds to realise where I am now,what was I doing,how did I get here and why am I doing this.
2 days yelling at kids. Having sore throat and my 'sexy man voice'. The tense and noise everywhere I go. Those little kids were really hard to handle. Goodness gracious. Kids of age 7-12 were there. Approximately about 60 kids turned up. About 20 facilitators,assistants and teachers altogether.
This was my assistant - Karbilan (special thanks to him in helping me out with the little devils)
This was the ketua for my Sunshine group.
Gosh,what more can I say? They're kids. They run everywhere,shout at each other,talk to their friends all the time,not respecting the faci's or the teachers. They're just little devils on the outside. But have you seen inside?
They're like little angels. Such a contradicting point. I know. But thats who they are. Little angels. Gems discovered from the ocean. A glass which is half empty/half full waiting to be filled with more water.
Angels in the inside and devils on the outside. :)
When everyone rushed home with their parents,this 1 girl who's name is Pavitraa came up to me before she left and kissed me on my cheeks.
Then I told myself silently 'This is exactly where I stand. This is where I'm suppose to be. This is what I should do.'
Being a teacher for this kids,nurturing them and to be a friend to hold their hand and show them the light on this dark and empty road is my greatest pleasure and blessing in this path of service. Each kid comes with a special token,an instrument to the world using their own abilities and talents. To be there and witness this gift from God has always lighten my day.
Today is my best day in 2009. This is my spiritual reason.
Look around you,look at everyone,think about them. Take note about their character and personality. Realise that you are an example to someone else in this world. Notice that you can make a difference in someone's life. You can be a role model to someone. Every difference starts with us. So look in the mirror and tell yourself
'every difference starts with me'.
